It's been four years since June Z released an album. The singles kept coming, but those who listened closely could sense that June was going through something bigger. Now, with "DANCE," it's coming.

Along the way, he moved to Manhattan, became a cantor, got married and had a daughter. At the same time, he continued to perform around the world, in South Africa, Japan, Gibraltar, Brazil, Mexico, Britain and, of course, Israel.

Through his travels and performances, he has noticed something in common: what drives people, and what connects communities that have almost nothing in common. What he has discovered, he chooses to express through music, song after song, until the answer becomes self-evident.

""At the end of the day, all you really want is for God to be with you, for the audience to be with you, and for you to be able to make them dance. That's it, it's all over," Yoni says about the idea behind "DANCE.".

The song is about the beginning of the journey, the dreams and aspirations of a career, and the moment you realize you missed the point, until you reach a certain place in life and understand what's really important.

""DANCE" is the first song from a brand new sound that can be expected from June Z from now on, with a more mature pop tone. "With the changes in my life, getting married and becoming a father, I just felt like this was where my new direction was going," he explains.

The sound is still pop, but more global and mature than anything he's recorded to date. The lyrics speak of change, and the vocal delivery leaves no room for doubt.

Yoni wrote the song together with Itay Shimoni, a well-known composer in Israel. "When we wrote it, we had an international style in mind, so it has parts in both English and Hebrew, just like is customary at international music events," Yoni says.

The arrangement was by Yoel Weiss, who recently also arranged "Geula" and "Hashem Elokey." The two are currently working together on a full album.

"I’m very excited to finally start this new chapter," says June Z. "You’ll hear it musically, you’ll notice it vocally, and you’ll feel it emotionally." The next singles, he confirms, are already ready.
