The Ministry of Transportation, the Jerusalem Municipality, and the Moriah Company successfully completed the operation to raise the two bicycle bridges over Begin Boulevard, as part of the work to establish the public transportation lane (PTL) in Section 7 between the Givat Shaul Interchange and the Golda Meir Interchange.
With the completion of the lifting work and the required safety inspections, Begin Road was reopened to vehicle traffic, and traffic on the route returned to normal.
The lifting of the bridges is a significant milestone in the progress of the project, which is designed to improve traffic flow on the central axis, increase road capacity, promote public transportation, and expand the network of bicycle paths in Jerusalem.
Over the coming weeks, work will continue on the section, including the completion of development and asphalt work on the new travel lanes.
In addition, additional closures are expected in the coming weeks as part of the continued implementation of the project, along with night work and temporary traffic arrangements, as part of the preparations for the opening of the northbound section by the holiday period.
