Actor Omer Hazan, who is in the process of returning to Teshuvah, is joining one of the intriguing productions of the new streaming platform 'Raag TV' - a new original drama series, presenting the character of Rabbi Yisrael Baal Shem Tov, founder of the Hasidic movement.
Hazan, one of the most prominent actors of the younger generation, is known, among other things, for his roles in the series 'Shababnikim', 'Palma'ch', 'Ziggy' and 'Ba'alet Al-Hallomot'.
In recent years, he has also often shared his personal growth process and his connection to the world of Judaism and faith.
The series will bring to the screen the life story of the Baal Shem Tov – one of the most influential figures in the Jewish world – and will follow the key stages in his life, the ideas he spread, and the spiritual revolution he led, the impact of which is evident to this day.
'Raga TV' says that this is one of the flagship productions of the new platform, which seeks to make the stories of Israel's greats accessible through quality drama and cinematic production.
Mandy Cohen, director of 'Raag TV': "The Baal Shem Tov is one of the founding figures in the history of the Jewish people. We wanted to tell his story in a way that would also speak to the younger generation, without compromising on the dramatic quality and historical depth. The choice of Omer Hazan brings to the screen a talented actor who manages to connect different worlds and appeal to diverse audiences."'
