Baruch Dayan, the truth teller: The late Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh (Yadel) Taub, zt"l, author of the "Otzar Halachot" series and the reader in Gur, passed away suddenly this evening (Thursday) at the age of 76 - after collapsing in the large Gur Beit Midrash in Jerusalem in the middle of a class he was giving.

Rescue forces called to the synagogue on Jeremiah Street in Jerusalem performed prolonged CPR, but for the heartbroken man, all that remained was to declare him dead.

He is known as a scholar and has been teaching the 'Daf Yomi' lesson for about half a century at the large Beit Midrash in Gur.

In addition, he served as one of the heads of the 'Kollel Poland' for decades, at the request of 'Hafni Menachem' Megur, zt"l.

He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim Moshe Knopf, the late director of HaModia, who upon his death succeeded him as "reader" at the Great Beit Midrash - where he served as reader on Shabbat and holidays.

He was fortunate to be matched with the family of the late 'Hafni Menachem' Megur.

He left behind sons who serve as Torah scholars and activists in the Gur court.
