Today (Sunday), during a live broadcast on Channel 14, media personality Mandy Rizel gave presenter Boaz Golan a dollar as a blessing from the Lubavitcher Rebbe zt"l - after a promise he made to him during a previous visit to the ulpan.

Rizel said that he received the dollar for Golan from his father-in-law, the Chabad emissary in Sderot, Rabbi Moshe Ze'ev Pizem. "My father-in-law, the Chabad emissary in Sderot, Rabbi Moshe Ze'ev Pizem, gave me this dollar for you.".
During the broadcast, a message was also conveyed from Rabbi Pizem: "I was happy to give from the dollars I received from the Rebbe, blessings and success, to you through Mendi. I really appreciate the work you do, you publish the truth.".
Golan, who was moved by the gesture, shared a personal memory from his visit in 1992: "I was with the Rebbe when he was sick, I saw him in the window, in the little skylight that he opened. He was radiant, it's truly something that cannot be explained. Only those who see it can understand this event, and I was blessed.".
Rizel noted that the specific dollar awarded to Golan was given to Rizel's father in 1985, a year before the Rebbe began the traditional distribution: "It's a rare commodity.".
Golan thanked Rizal and Rabbi Pizm for the gesture and said that he intends to hang the dollar in a frame in his home.
Shimon Tobol, deputy mayor of Beersheba who was a guest at the ulpan, said that he has a dollar from the Rebbe himself, and recounted what happened during his reserve service in the Gaza Strip: "We were on the outskirts of Jabalia. They fired an RPG at us, they missed us by a millimeter. This dollar is what saved us.".
Tobul added that he then transferred the dollar to another soldier who entered the fighting in Beit Hanun, and he too was saved by "apparent miracles.".
