At the end of the week, Maran HaGaradan Lando returned from a two-week trip to the United States, where he embarked on a journey for the 'World Torah Fund' to save the world of yeshivahs and kollelim in the Holy Land.
During the intensive journey, the Rosh Yeshiva raised huge sums of donations for the yeshivas and kollels, with him being joined by senior and important Rosh Yeshiva leaders and Torah scholars.
Rabbi Lando left his home on Saturday night two weeks ago at 4 a.m. - and after morning prayers at Ben Gurion Airport, he took off, together with Rabbi Segal, for the United States.
Upon his landing, hundreds of Lakewood's scholars gathered to debate for about an hour and a half in a grand "Ritcha Da'Oriyata" ceremony, and then listened to words of encouragement.
A special dinner was held at the home of Governor Baruch Jeremias, alongside a banquet held at Governor Ari Stern's and another dinner at Governor Akiva Meir's.
On Tuesday, he arrived in Chicago - for a huge conference alongside a dinner held at Governor Mordechai Kaplan's. The next day, he held dinners and donations in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, at the homes of Governors Robbie Sharan, Rafi Weiss, Baruch Karfinkel and Ze'evi Kuhn.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Lakewood was honored to welcome him at gatherings with Governors Yitzhak Rakovsky, Yanki Stern, and others, alongside a huge reinforcement event for all city residents on the streets of the city, attended by tens of thousands.
On Friday, the Rosh Yeshiva arrived in Monsey, where he stayed at the home of Governor Shimon Glick.
Special dinners were held at the homes of Governors Reuven Wolf and Louis Scheiner, and in the afternoon a special gathering was held for all residents of the city to strengthen and donate to the Torah world.
The second week opened with a delegation that went to Philadelphia, to a series of conferences in Miami and other places, while the Rosh Yeshiva arrived in the city of Passaic for dinner with Governor Ezra David, alongside a huge conference for the city's residents.
On Monday, the city of Lawrence hosted the Rosh Yeshiva at dinners held by Governors Israel Meir Wallmark, Moshe Wolfson and Dov Karfinkel.
On Tuesday, he traveled to Queens, where visits were held to Torah and educational institutions, along with a gathering for all residents of the borough at the 'Chafetz Chaim' yeshiva and dinners at the homes of governors Ariel Ilyibeev, Rabbi Daniel Cohen, Shimon Idels and Nissim Akilov.
From there, he flew by helicopter to a gathering of thousands of girls of matchmaking age who had donated to the 'World Torah Fund' at the Bell Works Hall, who had requested the blessing of the Rosh Yeshiva and words of encouragement.
On Wednesday, he attended dinners in the Borough Park neighborhood, with Governors Yoel Leifer and Moshe Pesherfer, and after saying goodbye to the neighborhood residents and welcoming them, he went to Governor Shlomo Wolfson's house in Flatbush.
Early Thursday morning, Rabbi Lando took off back to the Holy Land and landed at Ben Gurion Airport near midnight, after a journey that was rare in its length and success.
