Arrest of 'renegades' for studying Torah: An emergency meeting of dozens of rabbis from Sephardic communities in the city of Bnei Brak was held today (Thursday), headed by a member of the Council of Torah Sages, Harosh Mahfoud, and Sage Nissim ben Shimon.
During the conference, "the cry of the Torah world was heard, and ways to strengthen the Torah and stand guard over the yeshiva world were discussed," according to the conference organizers.
Hacham Nissim Ben Shimon sent a 'threat' to Attorney Gali Baharav Yara in his speech: "It is written that 'anyone who insults the scholars of Torah has no cure for his wound.' The legal advisor will start to feel something is wrong with her as early as next week, until she regrets everything.".
