There was great excitement this week within the walls of the 'Scientific and Technological Institute for Halacha' in Jerusalem, with the arrival of one of the greatest rabbis of our generation, the Gaon Rabbi Naftali Nussbaum, for a unique and comprehensive visit that was marked by "Torah and Technology.".
The visit began with an in-depth Torah discussion in the room of the head of the institute, Rabbi Avraham Moshe Halperin, who stands at the forefront of elegant halachic solutions in the technological age. During the conversation, complex issues at hand were raised, as the two teaching giants discussed together in depth the latest innovations and their implications for the observance of halachic law in the Jewish home and in public institutions.
Following the visit, Rabbi Halperin conducted a comprehensive tour with Rabbi Nussbaum of the various departments of the institute. The rabbinical rabbinate emphasized the critical importance of the existence of a Torah-professional body at such a level, which knows how to provide a perfect answer to all the questions of the time, and added that the institute's activities constitute a protective wall for preserving Halacha in an elegant manner.
There is no doubt that the visit of the pillar of teaching, a distinguished and renowned halachic arbiter, one of the foremost in the realm of halachic jurisprudence, gives renewed validity to the institute's activities, which aim to make technology accessible without compromising on the easy or the difficult. "The visit and the warm words of the Gran Nussbaum are an important tailwind for continuing the path we have been following and leading for decades," the institute said.
The visit concluded with a sense of exaltation, as the Torah scholars parted ways with each other out of mutual appreciation for the great work being done within the walls of the Institute for the benefit of all of Israel.
