Firefighters from the Yehuda Regional Station responded to the fire incident at the 'Or Talmud' yeshiva building in the city of Beitar Illit this morning (Sunday).
An initial investigation indicates that the fire started next to the building, resulting in smoke entering the yeshiva.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading - while simultaneously scanning the building to ensure that no one was trapped and suffering from smoke inhalation.
Chief Kobi Erez, incident commander: "Upon our arrival, we identified that the fire was directly affecting the interior of the building due to smoke that had penetrated inside. The teams attempted to contact the fire department and conducted simultaneous scans.
""We are now entering the summer period and the hot days, characterized by extreme dryness. I call on the public to be responsible, to be careful to clean up dry vegetation and debris from around buildings. These simple actions save lives and prevent the spread of fires.".
