In light of the High Court of Justice's decision to force the government to impose financial sanctions on Haredi "defectors": Maran HaGaradan Lando delivered particularly harsh remarks this evening (Sunday) at the Ponivezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, at the end of a special lesson and words of encouragement he delivered, attended by the heads and rabbis of the yeshiva and hundreds of students.

""I am here in this place, thrilled and moved by the place where I spent my youth in the first years after the yeshiva was established by the Maran Rabbi of Poniv'z zt"l. This place was the birthplace of many scholars who illuminated the skies of Judaism, and since then, the Beit Midrash benches have multiplied in extraordinary quantity and quality for the thousands of students who sit in this tent, and the tens of thousands of graduates, scholars, yeshiva heads and rabbis, and residents of Midin testify to the magnificent creation of the Maran Rabbi zt"l.
""You will be blessed, together with our teacher, the Rosh Ha-Yeshiva Shlita, who was appointed by the Maran Rabbi zt"l to serve in the yeshiva, to increase Torah and fear among the people of Israel under the presidency of the esteemed Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Shlita, and there will be success in all your endeavors.".
The head of the yeshiva addressed the decrees imposed on the Torah world: "The judicial authorities continue in their wickedness. We, the sons of believers, believe that God weighs down their hearts, but even when God, the Blessed One, rolls over a debt through a debtor, the wicked end up having to give judgment.".
""We adhere to our Torah, and all these difficulties will not hinder us in the least from studying Torah. On the contrary, we will increase the number of Torah, the number of Torah students, the number of seminaries, those from afar will hear and come, and we will distance ourselves from all the wicked of Israel, from them and from their wealth. We will not regard their decrees, we will ignore them, and they and their decrees will evaporate like a wind that blows and like a dream that flies.".
Maran the Rabbi declared: "Yeshiva students will not go to the army under any circumstances, neither by force nor by will, whether there is a law or not.".
""The authorities' job is to regulate this and not make it difficult, and if they insist, profit and salvation will arise for the Jews from another place, and all the guilt will vanish like smoke. And they will be established in us and the land will be filled with knowledge.".
