A 70-year-old Israeli passenger collapsed yesterday (Saturday) during a flight departing from Moldova to Israel.

The plane's crew was forced to make an emergency landing in Turkey, due to the passenger's complex medical incident.

Upon landing in Turkey, a medical team was waiting to evacuate the Israeli to a local hospital, where doctors were forced to pronounce him dead.

The Foreign Ministry is accompanying the deceased's family and working with the authorities in Turkey to bring him for burial in Israel.
