A serious violent incident occurred today (Sunday) at the Hadassah branch medical center in Beit Shemesh: a patient attacked medical staff members and injured a nurse.

According to the report, the patient, aged 26, arrived for treatment, but because she was not happy with the doctor's decision, she began to riot and locked the doctor in the treatment room. She later prevented staff from entering, hit a nurse and caused significant injury to her hand - which required medical treatment.

After her riot, she left the scene and the women on the team filed a complaint with the police, who began investigating the incident.

""Hadassah management, the doctors' and nurses' committees condemn with disgust and deep shock the patient's behavior and call on the authorities to handle the case with the utmost seriousness and bring her to justice," the medical center said.

Hadassah says that "they will not tolerate any violence against teams engaged in treatment, providing medical response, and saving lives, and will demand maximum punishment in any such case: the entire health system is obligated to condemn such events and not pass over them in silence in order to prevent them in the future.".

The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, strongly condemned the incident: "Violence against medical teams is a red line that cannot be crossed. Health system teams work every day to save lives and provide medical care to the public, and it is the state's duty to ensure their safety.".

""The Ministry of Health expresses full support for the affected teams and calls on the enforcement authorities to act decisively and bring those involved in the incident to justice.""
