Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced today (Friday) that following the ceasefire in Lebanon, the Strait of Hormuz is completely open - until the end of the ceasefire.

In a post he published on the X network, he wrote: "In coordination with the ceasefire in Lebanon, we announce the opening of passage through the Strait of Hormuz to all commercial ships for the period of the ceasefire.".

US President Trump tweeted in response on his social media: "Iran announced that the Strait of Hormuz is completely open, thank you!""

After the announcement of the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, there was a sharp drop of approximately 10% in the price of oil.

Doron Kadosh, the military correspondent for Galts, wrote in response: "And once again the battle over the narrative regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon - was the ceasefire in Lebanon indeed achieved thanks to Iranian pressure and the Iranian demand from the US, and this is now also the reason for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz by the Iranians, or was the ceasefire achieved thanks to the negotiations between Israel and Lebanon - and the Iranians surrendered to the American blockade of the Strait and are using the ceasefire in Lebanon as an excuse?""
