At midnight on Friday night, the temporary ceasefire between the State of Israel and the State of Lebanon officially came into effect.
The ceasefire, which will last ten days, is intended to allow the parties to conduct direct negotiations in Washington, under American auspices, with the aim of reaching a sustainable peace and security agreement.
About an hour before the ceasefire came into effect, the Hezbollah terrorist organization launched heavy barrages at Nahariya and Karmiel, which led to eight injuries, including a 17-year-old girl and a 25-year-old 'Volt' courier in serious condition.
In the past 24 hours, the IDF has attacked more than 380 infrastructures of the terrorist organization Hezbollah with the aim of assisting the activities of the ground forces operating in southern Lebanon.
Among the infrastructures that were attacked: terrorists, command centers, and a number of launchers that were launched towards the country's territory and were destroyed in rapid circle closures.
The agreement between the parties explicitly states that Israel reserves its right to take all necessary measures for self-defense against planned or ongoing attacks, regardless of the ceasefire.
Israel, on the other hand, pledged not to carry out offensive operations against Lebanese state targets at sea, in the air, and on land.
IDF forces remain in occupied territory in southern Lebanon.
The fighters are stationed in a new security zone between Ras Bayda - in the west, and Har Dov - in the east, until further notice.
