Tomorrow (Thursday), starting in the early morning hours and throughout the day, hundreds of police officers from the National Traffic Police, the National Motorcycle Patrol, a heavy vehicle unit - the only one of its kind in the country, detectives from the central unit in the Traffic Division, as well as many volunteers who will join the targeted enforcement operation.
As part of the operation, maximum use will be made of digital enforcement equipment.
During the operation, traffic police officers in the various districts will also participate, and all together will work towards focused and determined enforcement that will include, among other things, still cameras, tactical cameras, remote enforcement using cameras, a radar, and the 'Dvora' device.
Many volunteers will take part in significant enforcement, to increase presence and visibility and increase enforcement and governance.
Dozens of vehicles and motorcycles will be deployed on the affected roads, creating a nationwide enforcement continuum.
The risk hotspots, between the intercity and the city, were marked following a focus by the Research and Development Department in the Traffic Division, which mapped all the roads and routes that affect road accidents, in order to enforce them in the best possible way and bring about a decrease in road accidents and casualties, while strengthening road governance.
Detectives from the central unit in the Traffic Division will operate in a targeted manner against recidivist drivers who, every moment they are on the road, pose a real danger to all road users.
