Two young Haredi women in their 20s, residents of central Israel, who were detained for three and a half months in a Prague prison after being caught with 96 kilograms of gat weed hidden in their suitcases - were recently released from detention and deported back to Israel.
Shimon Ifergan reports on the 'Mako' website that, according to sources familiar with the details, the two got off 'cheap' after paying a fine of hundreds of euros and being deported from the Czech Republic with a "black stamp.".
A source close to the families of the two added: "The arrest caused them severe trauma. They did not know that they would spend long months in prison in difficult conditions. They went through hell in prison - it is a scar for life.".
According to the report, last week several young Israelis were arrested in Vienna and Paris after about 100 kilograms of khat were seized in their luggage.
