Ceasefire or war? The United States is sending thousands of additional troops to the Middle East in the coming days.
According to a report today (Wednesday) in the Washington Post, the forces include about 6,000 soldiers arriving aboard the aircraft carrier George Bush and the battleships accompanying it, and about 4,200 Marines who are expected to arrive at the end of the month.
Two senior American officials noted that this is preparation for a possible ground invasion of Iran.
Tonight, President Trump actually sounded optimistic when he said in an interview with Fox News that he believes the war with Iran is "very close to being over," but made it clear that the US is not done yet and that Iran is desperate to reach an agreement.
Speaking to ABC News, the president said he had no intention of extending the ceasefire because it was not necessary. "I think you're going to see two incredible days ahead of us," he said.
