The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Wednesday) with the Nazareth District Court against Shumoa Abu Abed, 32, from Nazareth, a mother of four, for having contact with an Iranian foreign agent, carrying out photography assignments for him at various locations in Nazareth, and transmitting sensitive information from her workplace.
The indictment, filed through Attorney Eti Zahavi of the Northern District Attorney's Office, states that starting in October 2025, Abu Abed maintained ongoing contact with an individual who introduced himself as "Winema Ton," who acted on behalf of Iranian intelligence officials.
The indictment and the findings of the investigation indicate that during the height of the fighting, she conducted visual documentation of the refineries in Haifa and IDF bases, and collected information on sensitive facilities throughout the country.
Initially, the assignments were presented to her as innocent photography jobs, but she later realized that they were hostile elements.
According to the indictment, Abu Abed carried out a series of tasks for the agent, mainly in the city of Nazareth, including photographing and transmitting documentation of commercial centers, various buildings and centers in the city, and military locations, along with transmitting locations and visual documentation.
Later, at his request, she opened a crypto wallet, through which she received payments for her activities.
Abu Abed worked in a position at a company that provides services to the Ministry of Transportation, and in this capacity she had access to computer systems that included personal and sensitive information about citizens. Abu Abed is accused of providing the foreign agent with information about her place of work, how the systems operate, and even photographic documentation of them, as well as passing on personal information about a person connected to the security establishment.
In addition, Abu Abed sent a link to the website of "Recruiters-Ba'A'Urf" - and wrote: "In my opinion, an easy and quick plan, an attack on the rising generation, its destruction is the destruction of the future. A stinking people, there is no need to teach and train and recruit children the size of the adults, the defeat of an entire generation, as they have always acted in their oppression.".
In the same conversation, Abu Abed sent links to Golani's Facebook page and the Golani Brigade website. The foreign agent instructed Abu Abed not to search for information about sensitive military bases on the Internet, due to the sensitive situation in the country and the fear that their activities would be exposed.
The case was investigated by the Shin Bet and the Northern Command of the Israel Police.
