Maj. Gen. (res.) Eyal Uriel Bianco, 30, from Katzrin, died in a Hummer overturn in southern Lebanon.
His funeral will take place today at 3:00 PM at the Katzrin Cemetery.
Bianco, a driver of a 'Lightning'-style fire truck, was part of the Paratrooper Brigade's combat team.
Bianco, married and a father of three, shared a photo with his children just a month ago, alongside which he wrote: "One more time to be together with them is all I would ask for. My loved ones, again, Dad is going away for an unknown period, but I promise I will be back.".
In the accident in which Bianco fell, a reservist was moderately injured and two other reservists were lightly injured.
Yehuda Doeh, head of the Katzrin council, paid tribute to his friend Eyal.
""A terrible and difficult morning, which began at night, with the receipt of the terrible news, about the fall of the Hero of Israel - the late Eyal Bianco," he shared. "I have known Eyal for years, a kind-hearted man, an introverted smile, his thoughts are always directed towards me, how I can help. Just yesterday, at noon, I sent him a message and he replied to me with a red heart. A heart that broke yesterday, for an entire family. Recently, Uriel and Yasa returned to Katzrin, he wrote to me: 'I intend to settle here, build our house, I am glad we returned.' I promised Yasa last night that she would buy the house they dreamed of buying, and make the dream come true.".
He added: "Yasa also told me, 'I want him to be buried here, he loved Katzrin so much and wanted to live here, I'm not giving up on his funeral in Katzrin.' Words that go deep into the heart, cut through every room along the way, and take on great meaning. The late Eyal, was a regular before the reserves for several years, who was called to the flag - he always came. Uri Eyal is the father of three small children, who became orphans yesterday, I saw them last night when I entered the house, I couldn't accept the fact that these three angels will grow up without a father. They will grow up with a story of a father - a hero, a hero of Israel.
