Holocaust Remembrance Day: The Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption published data today (Sunday) on the number of Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel in the last decade.
According to the data, since 2016, 2,316 Holocaust survivors have immigrated to Israel, with approximately 120 of them immigrating during the war since October 7th.
During the past year, two Holocaust survivors immigrated to Israel: one, 96 years old, who immigrated from the United States, and the other, 88 years old, who immigrated from France and lives in Ashdod.
Holocaust survivors who immigrated over the years came from a variety of countries around the world: the former Soviet Union, the USA, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Sweden, South Africa, Brazil, Greece, and more.
The peak year was 2022 - with 815 Holocaust survivors immigrating.
In recent years, and especially this year, the number has naturally decreased significantly due to the age of Holocaust survivors.
Today, 40,136 Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel since 1989 still live in Israel.
