Disasters between times: Two Haredi brothers from Jerusalem drowned this afternoon (Friday) on the beach of Kiryat Sanz in Netanya.
One of the brothers, 21 years old, was pulled from the water unconscious, while the other, 18 years old, is still missing - and an extensive search is underway for him.
Rescue forces called to the scene performed CPR on the young man, who was pulled from the water by passersby, and then he was evacuated by M, while undergoing CPR, to the Laniado Medical Center in Kiryat Sanz.
The ZAKA diving unit and the Special Missions and Missing Persons Unit were dispatched to the scene to assist in searches along the coastline and in the subsurface at sea.
The teams conduct extensive scans in the water using advanced technological means, dedicated diving equipment, underwater detection systems and lighting, with the aim of expanding the scan range and locating the missing person as quickly as possible.
Also, a helicopter is scanning at low altitude over the sea.
These are family members of one of the well-known yeshiva leaders in Jerusalem, who came to stroll on the separate beach.
Senior MDA paramedic Yosef Friedman said: "We were called to treat a 21-year-old boy who had drowned. We arrived at the beach in a 4x4 ambulance, and saw him on the beach, after he had been rescued from the water, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing. We began performing strenuous CPR and evacuated him to the hospital while performing CPR.".
