Shock: Vandalism and desecration of sacred objects at the Squira Hasidic synagogue in Jerusalem

Worshippers at the Squira Hasidic synagogue in Jerusalem were shocked this morning (Friday) to discover that during the night, unknown individuals who had entered committed vandalism.

According to the police announcement, the police hotline received a report from a security guard at a synagogue in Jerusalem about damage and desecration of the place.

It is suspected that the suspects who entered the synagogue last night threw tefillin and holy utensils on the floor and caused damage to property.

The police officers from the Lev HaBira police station who arrived at the scene opened an investigation and collected evidence and findings in order to trace the identity of the suspects - and lead to their arrest.

""The Israel Police views attacks on religious institutions and symbols as serious and will take all necessary measures to reach the truth and bring those involved to justice," the police statement said.
