This evening (Saturday), after the holiday ended, police officers from the Etzion station in the city of Beitar Illit were called to Kaf HaHayim Street, following a report to Hotline 100 about a man in a suit who was violating public order, going on a rampage and attacking passersby.

The police officers who arrived at the scene investigated the circumstances of the report. However, another yeshiva student, who was also in a coma, arrived and began to disturb the police officers and attacked them urgently.

The suspect was arrested by the police for his actions. Meanwhile, dozens of local yeshiva students began gathering in an attempt to thwart the police's mission, falsely advertising that this was an operation to arrest a draft dodger.

Additional police forces were called to the scene and worked to restore order - after the boys disrupted order on the street.

The arrested suspect, a 20-year-old man, was taken to the police station for questioning regarding his actions.

At the same time, all those who had gathered dispersed from the scene and order was restored.

At the conclusion of the suspect's interrogation and in accordance with the findings of this investigation, a decision will be made on his continued detention.
