
But in the Gur community: The late Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Schnorr, of Gur Hasidim in the city of Arad, died suddenly today (Friday) on a bus while on his way to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot at his daughter's home in Hatzor HaGalilit.
The deceased, who had no underlying illnesses, made his way from his hometown of Arad to celebrate the holiday with his daughter and son-in-law. His wife did not join him on the trip, as she was in a hospital in Be'er Sheva, alongside their daughter who was not feeling well.
During the bus ride, the deceased complained of weakness. When the bus arrived at the final stop in Hatzor HaGlilit, when all the passengers had gotten off and he remained seated, the passengers and the driver initially thought that he had fallen asleep. However, when they approached him, the terrible tragedy became clear.
After medical examinations, rescue forces were forced to declare him dead.
The deceased, z"l, was born on the 4th of Tishrei, 1923, to his father, the late Rabbi Mordechai Yosef Elazar Schnor, z"l, and his mother, the late Mrs. Leah Tova.
He previously lived in the city of Ashdod and later settled in Arad. Last Passover, he miraculously survived when his home in Arad was hit by a missile from Iran.
Due to the onset of Shabbat and the holiday, the funeral procession will take place on the evening of the holiday. He will be laid to rest in the cemetery in the city of Ashdod.
