Tragedy in Beit Shemesh: A 3-year-old toddler from Kirya Haredi did not wake up from his sleep - and died

A 3-year-old toddler was taken to the hospital in critical condition after not waking up from his nap in Beit Shemesh this morning (Sunday).

United Hatzalah medical teams were called to the city's Haredi neighborhood following a report of a toddler who had lost consciousness. Upon their arrival, paramedics began performing CPR on him.

He was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition. Medical teams continued to perform CPR throughout the evacuation.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Moshe Schechter and the brothers Asher and Yaakov Jungreis, paramedics from the United Hatzalah's "Saving Force" unit, said: "His family members told us that the toddler did not wake up from his sleep.".

ZAKA reported: This morning, a report was received at the ZAKA hotline about a three-month-old toddler who did not wake up from his sleep at his home on Or Samach Street in Beit Shemesh.

Rabbi Avraham Kap, commander of ZAKA Beit Shemesh, and Yosef Chaim Ha'Uzi, deputy commander of ZAKA Beit Shemesh, accompanied the family during their difficult time and worked with all relevant parties.

Thanks to their activities, the toddler was released for burial without the need to be transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

His funeral will take place at 1:00 PM at the Derech HaChaim Cemetery in Beit Shemesh.
