About a month ago, on August 13, the police received a report about a mother and son who were making their way from Samaria to the city of Afula in the north of the country - but the driver of the car took the wrong turn and accidentally entered the Palestinian city of Jenin.
A rioting crowd, noticing the Israeli license plates, began to gather around the vehicle, blocking it and trying to prevent it from continuing its journey, while several rioters smashed the vehicle's windows with the aim of lynching the two.
The driver of the vehicle, who managed to escape the scene, was handed over to security forces.
As part of an investigation opened by the central unit of the Shi'ite District of the police, together with the Shin Bet, and after revealing the identities of the rioters, two of them were arrested for their involvement in the violent attack.
The two were taken for questioning, at the end of which they were imprisoned, and their detention was extended from time to time.
Today, upon completion of the investigation of the two in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the SIA, and after the evidentiary infrastructure was formulated, a prosecutor's statement was submitted regarding the intention to file an indictment against them in the coming days.
