''We rushed forces that prevented a dangerous incident': Firefighters took control of a fire in Beitar Illit

Firefighters and volunteers from the Yehuda Regional Station, with assistance from neighboring districts, achieved control of the fire that broke out in the early hours of the afternoon (Wednesday) in the industrial area of ​​Beitar Illit.

The first crews to arrive on the scene reported a rapidly developing fire in an area used for waste storage, near industrial buildings storing fuels, oils, and other flammable materials.

Upon understanding the situation, many teams were dispatched to the event, with the focus of the effort being to prevent the fire from reaching the industrial buildings.

Aircraft from the Elad Firefighting Squadron participated in the firefighting efforts, dropping firefighting materials and thus helping to contain the flames.

Over 20 fire crews were involved in the incident, including dedicated water supply vehicles and dozens of firefighters.

An investigation has been opened to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Sergeant Tamir Erez, commander of the Yehuda Regional Station: "This is a significant fire that, despite many efforts, did not spread to the industrial buildings, where many flammable materials are stored. Right from the beginning of the incident, we acted to mobilize many forces, thus preventing a more extensive and dangerous incident.".

During the incident, we acted in full cooperation with the Judea Region police under the command of Chief of Police Eliyahu Zeiton, and with Beitar Illit municipality employees.
