Defense Minister Yisrael Katz participated this morning (Thursday) in a toast to Rosh Hashanah together with the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, and Defense Ministry employees.
In his speech, Minister Katz issued a stern warning to the regime in Tehran, lest it attempt to attack Israel: "An Iranian attack on Israel would free Israel from any existing restrictions on attacking Iran.".
""We will cripple all national military and civilian infrastructure in Iran - including energy infrastructure - and we will return Iran deep into the Stone Age and darkness.".
Katz addressed the balance of deterrence against the Iranians: "The ayatollah regime in Iran knows very well why it does not attack Israel after we have prepared them forcefully twice, destroyed their nuclear program and eliminated Khamenei, and severely damaged their strategic capabilities.
According to the Defense Minister, the defense establishment is identifying developments that may affect the Iranian regime's moves: "There are signs that we see that indicate that the heavy economic pressure they are under and the fear of an uprising and the fall of the regime could push them to desperate measures.".
He emphasized: "Israel is well prepared in defense and attack for any possibility - and the IDF is ready to carry out the mission.".
