The management of 'Café B'Sameta' in Jerusalem is expected to decide in the coming days whether to stop the cafe's operations on Saturdays.
According to a report this evening (Tuesday) by Inbar Toizer on Channel 12, the decision appears to have been made following the series of clashes and violent incidents that occurred in front of the venue, after more than six weeks of protests by ultra-Orthodox demonstrators.
According to the report, the psychological toll and fear of further escalation are weighing on the management, and elements within it are interested in stopping the cycle of conflicts and restoring routine to the cafe.
During the period of the clashes, eggs and stones were thrown at the cafe, tables were overturned, and attempts were made to break into the place. In another case, glue was inserted into the door lock, and in another case, feces was even thrown at the cafe.
Behind the cafe is the organization 'Jews for Jesus', and according to sources close to the management, the organization is not sure whether it is right to continue the struggle that has turned the place into a permanent arena of friction.
