The abandonment of Yesh Atid: MK Mickey Levy, former Knesset Speaker, announced this evening (Monday) that he will not run as part of the joint "Together" list of Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid.
Levy wrote to his party members: "I am leaving Yair's house right now, after a personal and emotional meeting between us. We agreed that I would not be on the Yesh Atid list for the next Knesset. Yair asked me to serve as the party's chairman, and I happily agreed.".
Political commentator Amit Segal presented the Yesh Atid constitution, according to which the chief justice will be a retired judge or an attorney with at least 15 years of experience - and quipped: "Apart from the fact that Mickey Levy cannot be appointed chief justice and apart from the fact that Lapid cannot appoint him - everything in the announcement is true.".
At noon, Knesset member and former minister Meir Cohen also announced that he will not run on the "Behad" list for the next Knesset. Cohen will be appointed chairman and president of the Yesh Atid Conference and will continue to operate within the party.
