Eyewitnesses claimed that a 'special force' of militias operating in collaboration with Israel was exposed after infiltrating western Gaza City.
A Palestinian security source told Al-Arabi Channel that an armed group arrived in the Al-Kitab area in western Gaza City and opened fire on two people.
The source added that the IDF attacked civilian vehicles to 'cover' its men. The source noted that the target of the operation in western Gaza City was an official in Hamas' internal security service.
Unofficial channels affiliated with Hamas claimed that members of militias opposed to the organization were operating in western Gaza City in an attempt to kidnap a senior Hamas official. According to testimonies from the field, the force used a bus and motorcycles and was ambushed while trying to enter the cafeteria complex next to the UN staff quarters. It was also reported that the force operated under massive air cover.
