The Prime Minister's son, Yair Netanyahu, was the target of a planned assassination plot by Iran while he was living in South Florida.

This was revealed today (Wednesday) by the American media network Newsmax, based on information provided by an official source in the United States.

According to the report, the Iranian operation was intended to take place in the state of Florida, at a time when Yair Netanyahu was living in the city of Holmdale Beach, near Miami.

Israeli intelligence officials were the ones who discovered the plan in December last year.

It was also revealed that a squad on behalf of Iran had already arrived in the Miami area, stayed in Netanyahu's vicinity, and carried out extensive observation and surveillance operations of his residence and daily routine.

As soon as the magnitude of the threat was discovered, an urgent intelligence update was transmitted to the competent authorities in the United States.

Following the warning and intelligence information, American officials ordered Netanyahu to leave the area immediately. As a result of the urgent directive, Yair Netanyahu was forced to leave in a hurry, leave his personal belongings at the property where he lived - and urgently take off for Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Tuesday that Iran had attempted to assassinate one of his sons. The information had been banned from publication until now.

In a live conversation with Channel 14, Netanyahu said: "There is something here that is unbelievable. Iran targeted one of my sons. Iran tried to murder one of my sons.".

When asked whether this was intelligence information that was presented to him, Netanyahu did not elaborate and repeated his words: "Iran tried to assassinate one of my sons.".

According to him, security for his sons is not a luxury: "It is something without which this attempt will simply fail.".
