Following a significant intelligence operation led by the Coast Guard investigating the murder in Caesarea: Israel Police Special Operations Command fighters today (Tuesday) arrested two suspects in the murder of Yanis Yushayev, head of the 'Caucasian Mafia.'.

Among those arrested is the main suspect, a Jew in his 50s with a criminal record. The latter was caught hiding in the storage room of a residential building in Hadera with a knife in his possession.

The murder took place on Sunday this week at the entrance to a restaurant at a gas station near Caesarea, during which Yusufyev was shot to death with a gun.

As part of the investigation, investigators and detectives from the Coast Guard worked to locate the suspects in the act.

This evening, after a manhunt and with intelligence guidance from a coastal unit, the YAM fighters - the State of Israel's national counter-terrorism unit - operated in Hadera and arrested the suspects involved in the murder.

The suspects were arrested and transferred for further investigation to the Coastal Police Department.

Police Commissioner Danny Levy, who closely monitored the progress of the investigation, praised the activities of the Marine Corps fighters and Coastal District Marine Corps police officers, which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Earlier today, Yusufyev was laid to rest in the cemetery in Or Akiva. He was a senior target of the Coast Guard and survived assassination attempts in the past year, murdered by a gunshot at point-blank range at a gas station near Caesarea, just three days after his 31st birthday.
