Amit Segal, Channel 12's senior political commentator, addressed this evening (Tuesday) Ofer Winter's deliberate disregard for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - in his speech at the founding of the 'Amach Yisrael' party.
""Ofer Winter had many strong words in his speech tonight, but not one word was in it, Netanyahu. Winter, and I'm sure every word was checked by research groups and polls, did not attack Netanyahu nor did he say that he would sit together," Segal said.
He emphasized: "Winter's choice is particularly interesting. The question is, whether down the road and to prevent vote leakage, he will commit to sitting under Netanyahu, or, as Netanyahu suspects, he is retaining the option for a broad right-wing government - when Lieberman and Bennett are also right-wing.".
According to him, "This is the delicate maneuver that Winter must go through - and he has two weeks before the lists close. The goal is to prevent himself, almost by force, from uniting or merging with someone else.".
""Therefore, Winter is playing it safe, trying to gain momentum as quickly as possible, to avoid the same pressure from the camp to withdraw,",
