The chairman of the "Democrats" party, Yair Golan, this morning (Tuesday) accused MK Zvi Sukkot of Religious Zionism of being responsible for moving IDF forces on the eve of the Hamas massacre on October 7.
In a post he published on his X account, following the vandalism of a terrorist monument by Sukkot, Golan wrote: "Zvi Sukkot, the same person because of whom IDF forces went to the territories on the evening of October 7th instead of staying in the south. The same person who broke into IDF bases. And today he is trying with his own hands to ignite more fire and more war. This is a person who should be behind bars, not in the Israeli Knesset. With this coalition, the flames are a working method. More confrontation, more incitement, more show more.".
Sukkot responded to Golan's statements by threatening to sue.
""You have exactly half an hour to erase this lie. There was not a single soldier who immigrated from the south to Judea and Samaria because of me. If you don't erase it, you will be sued and have to pay just like your good friend Dan Harel," Sukkot wrote.
Golan folded and deleted the post.
About two months ago, the Ramla Magistrate's Court ruled that Maj. Gen. (retd.) Dan Harel would pay MK Zvi Sukkot 35,000 shekels in compensation for defamation, after Harel claimed in a television interview that on the eve of the October 7 events, army forces were deployed to secure the MK in Huwara.
