Strategist and pollster Shlomo Filber came out today (Thursday) against new political initiatives on the right, warning of an irresponsible run that will lead to vote-burning and the loss of power.
""The traditional right-wing Likud, which numbers more than a million people, looks on in horror and dismay. How a small group of right-wingers who call themselves 'ideologists-values' are vigorously drilling holes in the Gush ship, and working with their eyes open to overthrow the right-wing from power," Filber wrote on his X account.
He said, "These days, the somewhat megalomaniacal personality cult of two people who have crowned themselves the next leaders of the right, with a negligible percentage of naive and enthusiastic young people behind them who follow slogans and clichés, is reaching its peak. This is a show of betrayal of solidarity and unity of ranks, in a complex period, that even surpasses Bennett's betrayal of the right-wing camp.".
The strategist explained: "The right-wing bloc currently has 62 stable and solid mandates - a reincarnation of the 'right-wing bloc' we have seen for 5 years, plus natural growth and a few disillusioned ones. It is enough to burn 3 mandates to allow the left-wing bloc, with the support of the Arabs, to form a left-wing-Arab government - and in the case before us, the domino effect could topple another 4 mandates of the Religious Zionist Party.".
Filber emphasized: "The responsibility for curbing this irresponsible celebration of power intoxication lies first and foremost with the educators, heads of yeshivas, preparatory schools, midrashim, and public opinion leaders, who need to bring some sense to the enthusiastic first-time voters.".
""As Achish, King of Gath, said about King David, 'Am I without fools?'".
