As part of the enforcement policy led by the Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, a significant milestone was reached yesterday: Within a year and a half, the 10,000th illegal structure was demolished, with the demolition that completed the historic number being carried out in the Jowarish neighborhood in Ramla.
Since the beginning of 2025, 10,000 illegal structures have been demolished across the country, especially in the Negev, of which nearly 6,000 in the last year alone.
As part of the enforcement policy led by Minister Ben Gvir, areas equal to the area of Tel Aviv and Givatayim combined have so far been returned to the State of Israel.
Minister Ben Gvir arrived in the Jowarish neighborhood yesterday morning to closely monitor enforcement and demolition activities, and said: "We have reached a significant milestone - the 10,000th illegal structure demolished since the beginning of 2025. In the last year alone, we have demolished almost 6,000 illegal structures.".
""They used to be afraid to deal with illegal construction, afraid to deal with crime families and preferred to abandon state lands. But I haven't given up and I won't give up.".
""I hereby inform all criminals: We will continue to demolish every illegal structure. Your only way to prevent the demolition is to demolish it yourself, before our government tractors do it.".
