Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter attacks the discourse between the opposition bloc parties regarding the recruitment of members of the ultra-Orthodox public into the IDF.
""Almost all the politicians have been arguing in recent days. One says he will recruit all the Haredim, one says he will recruit 99% of the Haredim, one says 70% and the other side says that not a single Haredim will enlist," Winter said in a video he posted.
He asked a question to everyone who was involved in the conscription issue in recent decades. "All those who have been in politics in the last 20 years and those who have been politicians in uniform in the last decade - how many Haredim have you brought into the IDF over all the years that you have been fighting? Who will bring more? What have you done, besides trying to rake in political capital on the backs of the people of Israel and bringing zero results and zero solutions?""
According to him, "Recruiting Haredim and integrating them into the IDF will not be done through populism, but through hard work and creating trust. Working with the Haredi public itself.".
""So come on, let's get rid of all this false populism," Winter concluded.
