
A terrible tragedy on a family vacation in Mexico: The late Shalom Saginer, the 4-year-old grandson of Rabbi Shalom Arush, head of the 'Thread of Mercy' institutions, drowned after falling into a pool at a hotel in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
The late Shalom is the son of Rabbi Assaf and Rivka Saginer.
The child drowned in a pool while the family was on vacation in Mexico.
Local rescue teams were called to the scene and performed prolonged CPR, ultimately forcing them to declare him dead.
The family's statement said: "Blessed is the truth. Death has risen in our window with the sad news of the passing of the pure child Shalom Saginer, son of Rabbi Assaf and Rivka, grandson of the Yablhat"a Gaon Rabbi Shalom Arush. Only 4 years old, he rose pure and innocent. May God comfort us and heal our brokenness.".
Upon receipt of the report at ZAKA's international unit hotline, ZAKA began working with the relevant authorities and entities in Mexico and assisting the family members with whatever was necessary.
After local authorities requested an autopsy, the boy's body was not examined and he was released.
ZAKA's international unit is assisting the family members and working with the relevant authorities to complete the necessary procedures and bring his body to Israel as soon as possible for burial.
