The young man Meir Shaar, 21 years old from Bnei Brak, a student at the Ponivez Yeshiva, was killed this afternoon (Monday) when a Razor SUV overturned near the settlement of Neve Erez in Binyamin.
The accident occurred when two young Haredi Jews were traveling together in an SUV, which overturned under circumstances that have not yet been clarified.
Rescue forces called to the scene found the deceased unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, and suffering from multi-system trauma. After medical examinations, they were forced, to their regret, to declare him dead at the scene.
The second young man, 21 years old from Betar Illit, who was fully conscious and suffered minor injuries to his limbs, was taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in a minor condition.
The young man Meir Shaar, z"l, was born in Bnei Brak on the 3rd of Tevet 5765, to his father, Rabbi Avraham Harel, gabbai of the Netivot Shalom Beit Midrash of the Adat Yemenite community and rabbi at the Derech HaTorah Yeshiva in Kiryat Herzog in Bnei Brak, and to his mother, Mrs. Ora.
In his youth he studied at the Ponivz Yeshiva for Young People, and later moved to the Ponivz Yeshiva. He was an activist in the Or Israeli youth movement.

ZAKA volunteers from the Shi'ite District, Binyamin Area Team, were called to the scene and worked on site to honor the deceased and collect the remains for burial.
At the request of the deceased's family, a team of ZAKA volunteers under the command of ZAKA Chief of Staff Yechiel Goldman and the Welfare Department in the Bnei Brak Municipality are accompanying the family members and assisting them with the Israel Police in order to release the deceased for burial as soon as possible.
Tami Meishram and Hava Cohen, paramedics from the United Hatzalah who were the first to arrive at the scene, said: "When we arrived at the scene, the ATV rider was without a pulse and not breathing and suffering from serious head injuries. We performed CPR on him, but unfortunately, at the end of the resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. In addition, we provided medical treatment to another injured person whose condition is described as mild, and he was subsequently taken to the hospital for further treatment."
