Writer Eyal Meged clashed sharply this evening (Monday) with i24 Channel journalist Sharon Gal during an interview that dealt with the criticism the writer received following his ties to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
During the conversation, Meged claimed that Netanyahu "wants to destroy the country," but had difficulty answering Gal's questions.
When the presenter asked him to point out concrete steps that, in his words, make Netanyahu a "tyrant," Meged replied that he believed that Netanyahu "would not accept losing the elections" and even claimed that he "would not let the elections happen.".
Gal replied that these were passwords and said: "You have become 100% Rl"Bist.".
The discussion later deteriorated into personal matters.
Meged told Gal: "Anyone who is a friend of Bibi after October 7, like you for example, is an idiot." He later called him a "flatterer" and "wretched soul" - and slammed him: "You are a polluted and dirty channel.".
Gal responded: "I will not stoop to that level of yours.".
He added that in his opinion, "viewers understand from this conversation between the two of us who the real idiot is," and after further exchanges, he concluded the interview by saying: "Eil Meged, this is a writer in Israel. Thank you very much.".
