The Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety is allocating 10 million shekels to Netivei Israel to promote the Sorek East Interchange project on Highway 6.
The budget is intended to advance the planning and preparation phase for implementation, as part of expanding the road network and strengthening transportation connectivity in the area.
The Sorek East Interchange project is designed to create a direct connection between Highway 6 and the Kiryat Gat area and the developing area in the east of the city. The construction of the interchange will improve accessibility to employment, industrial and residential areas, streamline traffic flow and reduce congestion on existing routes.
As part of the project, detailed planning work will be carried out and the necessary infrastructure preparation will be carried out in preparation for the construction of the interchange, including engineering planning, traffic arrangements, associated infrastructure and the preparation of all the components required to advance the project to the implementation phase.
The project is integrated into the Ministry of Transportation's policy to promote strategic transportation infrastructure across the country, with the aim of improving accessibility between employment centers, strengthening the connection between demand areas and the periphery, and providing the public with advanced, safe, and efficient transportation service.
