The blood of the yeshiva students was shed: Marginal boys who entered an ultra-Orthodox yeshiva in the ultra-Orthodox settlement of Rechsim in the north this evening (Saturday night) went on a rampage, threw stones and heavy objects, and beat some of the students - who did not call the police, due to fear that they would be arrested for being 'deserters'.

One of the students told Channel 13 reporter Yueli Brim: "We were allowed to bleed, they had knives, I'm afraid to call the police.".

Another young man from the yeshiva testified: "On Saturday night, there was a fight between marginalized boys outside the yeshiva. They started throwing stones toward the yeshiva. A young man from the yeshiva was almost injured by a rock that a marginalized boy threw at his head.

""When they saw that the police were not coming, they grabbed a guy, laid him on the floor and 'blew him up' with murderous blows. Six boys beat him until he bled. He is now lying in a boarding school with a flashlight in his eye, wounded all over his body. But he is afraid to seek medical treatment because he is a deserter.".

The young man testified: "We were afraid to call the police, because everyone in the yeshiva is a 'deserter.' We feel that our lives are in danger, and we have no protection.".

Additionally, according to a report by Barim, a young Haredi man who was walking around a Hasidim village this evening was severely beaten in the face, and did not contact the police due to fear of arrest for being a 'deserter'.

""In this era, criminals know they can do whatever they want in ultra-Orthodox autonomy," says Brim.
