Presenter Guy Zuaretz updated his hundreds of thousands of followers today (Monday) about his medical condition and revealed that he had to undergo surgery on his back.
The reason: a severe herniated disc that forced him to undergo surgery and take a long rest.
On his Instagram account, Zuaretz talked about the complex treatment, the moments of anxiety that accompanied him before entering the operating room - and about prayer.
""The truth is that I haven't been on Instagram for a few good days, but I did go in and see all your messages, and the concerns and suggestions - so thank you all so much," Zuaretz began in a video he filmed. "You really, really touched me with your care. I'm fine, recovering, resting. Working on myself by resting. This is the hardest job I've ever had in my life, resting, and here I am doing it.".
He later spoke about the complexity of the surgery: "This is the first time I've had surgery and it was very stressful. Still, back surgery is not something that happens every day. There's always a lot of apprehension when it comes to the back, obviously.
""I remember the last moments before they put me to sleep. I remember being there in a tremendous prayer. I thanked God. I thanked my family, Yaeli and the children.".
He spoke about the faith that helped him: "In these moments, you have to give up, you have to let go, you have to hand this thing over to God, to say, 'It will be okay, I believe that everything will be for the best.' There is this terribly beautiful sentence, 'I have always set the Lord against me.' I was able to be there in that moment, in this connection of faith, and it definitely helped me.".
