Towards the 3rd of Tammuz, the day of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's jubilation, the first single from 'Moshe Laufer Plays Chabad 6' is being released - the tune "Ki Hana Kehumor" composed by Rabbi Aharon Kharitonov, performed by Chabad singer Eli Marcus.
15 years after the album series that became a milestone in the world of Hasidic music was launched, Moshe Laufer and Levik Tobol present the sixth and newest installment in the prestigious series.
The five previous albums in the series were successful and left a significant mark on the world of Jewish and Hasidic music. Many of the tunes included in them became an integral part of the soundtracks of celebrations and gatherings, and the entire series has earned a special status among Chabad tune enthusiasts in Israel and around the world.
Once again, the album's producers have carefully selected a collection of beloved melodies, alongside lesser-known musical gems, which bring to light the depth, emotion, and joy inherent in the rich world of Chabad Hasidism.
In Moshe Laufer's unique arrangements, the melodies gain new colors, musical richness, and immersive and exciting performances.
The new album features singers Eli Marcus, Mandy Jarupi, Yoni Shlomo and Baruch Shalom Belsofsky, each of whom provides their own unique style and enriches the album's special musical mosaic.
The choir sections were conducted by Yossi Cohen in New York together with the Chabad A Capella Choir, which adds power, precision, and an authentic Hasidic atmosphere throughout the entire album.
Dozens of musicians, dozens of instruments, and meticulous musical production come together to create a rich and impressive work that combines a magnificent musical tradition with a contemporary, high-quality sound. The melodies, some of which were composed by Chabad rebbes of their generations and some by great Hasidic scholars, receive a new musical interpretation on this album that preserves their original character alongside innovation and freshness.
