A four-month-old baby was taken to Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Medical Center this afternoon (Wednesday) in critical condition, after being forgotten for an extended period of time in a closed vehicle in Kfar Chabad.
The public is asked to pray for the baby's complete recovery. Haim Ben Chaya Mushka.
Rescue forces called to the scene at 3:08 PM provided the baby with first aid and he was taken to Shamir-Assaf Harofeh Hospital in critical condition and unconscious, with signs of heatstroke.
Paramedics from the MDA motorcycle unit, Shmuel and Moshe Gelbstein, and senior MDA medic Yossi Nabul, said: "When we arrived, we were led to the baby who was unconscious, after being in a closed vehicle for a long time. We performed an initial medical assessment of the baby, and noticed that he was very warm to the touch. We gave him initial medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care vehicle to the hospital, where his condition is described as serious and unstable.""
Chaim Meir Friedman, head of the Kfar Chabad branch of United Hatzalah, and paramedics Eli Tornheim, Itzik Schiff and Chaim Rivkin said: "We were informed at the scene that the baby had been forgotten in the car and had been there for a long time. We provided him with initial medical aid and then he was taken to the hospital in critical condition and unconscious.".
United Hatzalah reiterates its call to follow safety and caution rules and not leave children or toddlers in vehicles unattended, even for a moment. It is also recommended to keep an eye on parked vehicles, especially on hot summer days, to check to see if children or toddlers have been forgotten in them.
