The Ministry of Transportation and the National Public Transportation Authority announce a series of significant improvements to the public transportation system in the city of Petah Tikva, which will go into effect this Sunday.
As part of the move, central line routes will be updated, new lines will be launched, and advanced transportation solutions will be provided for central neighborhoods in the city.
The new route is designed to improve the travel experience for Petah Tikva residents, strengthen connectivity between neighborhoods and employment centers, train and light rail stations, and enable faster, more convenient, and more efficient travel. In addition, the changes are being made as part of preparations for the evacuation of the city's central bus station and the construction of a new, advanced transportation complex.
Among the main changes: the operation of two new lines: Line 61, which will connect the Segula and Kiryat Aryeh train stations, and Line 96, which will provide new service to the Tekoma and Kfar Avraham neighborhoods.
Alongside this, the routes of major lines will be updated, including 25, 38, 50, 77, 138, 179 and 287, with the aim of streamlining the service and adapting it to the needs of passengers.
In addition, several lines will be canceled as part of the adjustments, including lines 44, 55 and 364, while transportation alternatives will be provided using existing and new lines.
Some of the lines will be increased in frequency and some will be extended to employment areas, transportation terminals and central train stations.

The move in Petah Tikva will provide residents with more efficient, advanced, and accessible service, with better connections to the train and light rail. Expanding the service to new neighborhoods and strengthening the main lines will help reduce traffic congestion and encourage the use of public transportation. We will continue to work for high-quality, safe, and accessible public transportation for all citizens of Israel.""
Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg: "The new 'Heroes of Israel' transportation complex, established in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, is an important pillar in upgrading the city's public transportation system. The complex will enable the evacuation of the old central bus station, will provide a response to the expansion of the activity of the public transportation system and electric buses, and will help reduce the nuisance of bus parking within residential neighborhoods.".
