The appointment of Major General Roman Goffman, the Prime Minister's military secretary, as head of the Mossad was approved by the Grunis Committee, but due to the minority opinion of the committee chairman, it is also expected to reach the High Court of Justice.

Did the appointment ultimately go through? Oded Eilam, former head of the Mossad's intelligence division, claims that there is no real problem with the appointment.

In an interview with 103FM, Elam said: "I sniffed around a bit on Roman Goffman and I really received wall-to-wall praise regarding his professional abilities, his leadership abilities.".

He added: "I would also like to say something about the issue of flawless people. Flawless people are those who just submit resumes on LinkedIn. Purity and righteousness are the greatest enemies of common sense.

""There are also generals in the IDF like Chiko Tamir and Imad Fares who threw them over trifles. I know senior commanders who received harsher command remarks and were promoted.".
